Last Thursday night the Butler Junior High Wrestling team lost to Greensberg Salem 39-54.
Winners for the Junior High "GT" were:
80 lbs: Austin Birckbichler by decision 6-5
85 lbs: Hugh O'Neil by decision 6-2
95 lbs: Caleb Baxter by fall
122 lbs: Jacob Stutz by fall
138 lbs: Hank Finan by decision 4-3
165 lbs: Chris Boyd by fall
185 lbs: Justin Johnson by fall
250 lbs: JD Bojanec by fall
The Golden Tornado are now 9-7 on the year. They return to action this Saturday Feb 4th at the 17th annual NA junior high wrestling tournament.
Congratulations to our Junior High Coach, Donnie Geibel, for being named the WPIAL coach of the year.He has been named the section coach of the year three times and this is his first time as the WPIAL coach of the year.Our Junior High team, under his guidance, finished the season ranked 4th in the state.Congratulations to Coach Geibel and our boys for a memorable season!
Coach Geibel was also featured in the 3/29/2011 edition of the Butler Eagle on page E3 for the Silhouettes series.

Junior High Wrestlers,
Make sure to weigh-in and weigh-out everyday in the log book!!!
Make sure you have a ride ready to take you home at 5:30
Also Please make sure your practice gear is clean every day. You are required to cut down the risk of infections by showering daily with the soap in the locker room showers before you leave. Never leave without showering. Also, do not share towles, soap, shampoo, or workout gear. Make sure you bring your dirty workout clothes home in your mesh bag and keep the dirty clothes and bag seperate from your clean clothes/bag. We all need to do our part to prevent skin problems/diseases.
Don't leave practice without talking to Coach Geibel! Ever! Ever! Ever!
For those of you who were growing your winter coats, please be advised that you need to get a haircut that allows you to meet the hair requirement. Also facial hair needs to be shaved for matches.
The Butler Golden Tornado Jr. High Team hosts a dual tournament each year. Email Coach Stoner if you are interested in next year's 2011-2012 tournament.
